Maracay is known as the birthplace of Venezuelan hip-hop. Many of the big names on the Venezuelan rap scene come from Maracay, including Canserbero, Lil Supa and Akapellah. And the next wave of up-and-coming talent can often be found performing in the city’s freestyle tournaments.

Get away to the spectacular beaches of Henri Pittier National Park

Maracay is the closest city to Henri Pittier National Park, the oldest in Venezuela. The park encompasses two geographic systems. On the one hand, the mountainous forest of the Venezuelan Coastal Range, deeply green with great biodiversity of flora and fauna.

Further north, on the Caribbean coast, you’ll find beaches, bays and spas straight out of paradise. You’ll also find the cacao road leading to Chuao, where some of the best cacao in the world is still grown today.
