If there is one thing that makes Morrocoy National Parkspecial, it is the beaches. Kilometres and kilometres of white sand and crystal-clear waters await you in an authentic tropical paradise within the reach of a lucky few, with unforgettable spots such as Playa Blanca, Playa Mero, Playa Varadero, Playa Punta Brava, and Playa Norte, Playa Los Juanes. Don’t forget your swimsuit!

Talking about the beaches of Morrocoy is synonymous with talking about its cayos, miniature islands where time seems to stand still between the sea breeze and the shade of the palm trees. There are more than 30 cayos to choose from, but we recommend visiting Cayo Sombrero, Cayo Los Juanes, Cayo Muerto, Cayo Sal, Cayo Playuela, Cayo Borracho and Cayo Peraza for the authentic Morrocoy experience.

Under the waters of Morrocoy hides a whole natural universe of flora and fauna, with numerous species such as dolphins, rays, tropical fish and coral, which make their home around the Caribbean cayos.
On land, you can find mangroves and many different species of animals such as the anteater, the green iguana and the Morrocoy turtle, which gives the national park its name. Wherever you look, there is life.

Morrocoy National Park is a paradise for water sportsenthusiasts. The combination of excellent atmospheric conditions and unparalleled marine life make it perfect for underwater sports such as snorkelling and diving, as well as for sports on the water such as kayaking and paddleboarding.
If you’re looking for something quieter, the park also organises hiking trails through the forests and mangroves, where you can observe nesting birds from many different species.

Morrocoy has its own local cuisine with simple dishes based on seafood and fresh fish, with a strong influence from the Venezuelan cuisine. You can try it in the many restaurants in the park, such as Dolce Morrocoy, Reyna de Morrocoy, Venemar Morrocoy or, in the nearby town of Chichiriviche, where you will find La Guicha and Txulipa.

Tucacas and Chichiriviche
Very close to the Morrocoy National Park are Tucacas and Chichiriviche, two towns that stand out for their beaches and heavenly landscapes, where you will find a variety of shops and restaurants, as well as activities to get to know the tropical environment that surrounds you.
In addition, in Chichiriviche you can visit the Cave of the Virgin, a rocky grotto that has become a place of pilgrimage for many believers, since legend has it that the Virgin Mary appeared in it.
