Valencia’s museums reflect the city’s colonial past and how it has influenced everyday aspects such as the art and customs of its people. For example, the Casa de los Celis Museum shows a collection of indigenous art in one of the largest colonial houses in Valencia, the Museum of Art Valencia (MUVA) preserves the artistic legacy of the state of Carabobo, and the Casa de la Estrella offers a journey through history at various stages, represented by its most iconic objects.

As a close descendant of Venezuelan cuisine, Valencian cuisine is characterised by the use of bread, maize, vegetables and meat to give its dishes an unmistakable flavour. We recommend trying arepas, empanadas, cachapa (corn pancakes), tequeños (cheese sticks) and, more typical of the city, quesito valenciano, a filling made with peppers, onions, butter and milk, used in arepas and to spread on toast and biscuits. Bon appétit!

As the industrial capital of Venezuela, Valencia is home to numerous industrial zones in all sectors. National and international companies find a favourable climate for development and expansion here thanks to the strategic location, which facilitates access to markets around the world. It’s an entrepreneurs’ paradise.
For shopping enthusiasts, the city offers several shopping centres such as the Metropolis Shopping Centre and the Sambil Shopping Centre, with hundreds of stores from the best national and international brands.

Valencia is full of emblematic monuments and places that bear witness to its history and cultural development, such as Valencia Cathedral, located in the historic centre of the city, the Plaza Bolívar, an urban park in honour of Simón Bolívar, and the Campo de Carabobo, where the famous Battle of Carabobo for the Independence of Venezuela was fought.
If you’re looking for a day of fun in the water, head to Dunes Park and enjoy slides, pools and attractions!

The most important performances in the city are held at the Teatro Municipal de Valencia, one of the oldest theatres in Venezuela, with impressive neoclassical architecture. The artisitc programme includes everything from plays to concerts and dance and operaevents, delighting tourists and residents alike.
In addition, Valencia is famous for its vibrant nightlife, with bars and clubs where you can enjoy jazz, blues, reggaeton, salsa and live music in the liveliest atmosphere in all of Venezuela.

Natural beauty
Despite being a predominantly industrial city, Valencia has plenty of places to enjoy nature, thanks to its many natural parks and green areas.
Fernando Peñalver Park is the perfect place to stroll along the Cabriales River, surrounded by forest, countryside and wildlife. In San Esteban National Park, you can explore everything from mountainous landscapes with waterfalls and misty jungles to bays and mangroves. As for Casupo Municipal Park, there are nature trails that wind their way deep into the mountain, with the Cerro Casupo as a backdrop.
